School board plans meetings for public input

ORIGINALLY WRITTEN
The USD 410 Board of Education is planning two public meetings as part of a plan to gather input from constituents regarding budget adjustments for the next school year.

The two public meetings will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 1, and Thursday, April 3, in the technology center of Hillsboro High School.

With the current financial crisis in Kansas, it is almost certain USD 410 will face a reduction of operating revenue of more than $300,000, according to Gordon Mohn, superintendent. That represents about 5 percent of the district’s operating revenue.

Interested patrons and parents are encouraged to attend one of these two meetings.

In addition to those sessions, representatives of the district will be meeting over the next several weeks with building site councils and district employees.
