The Hillsboro Trojans bounced back from their overtime loss to Medicine Lodge Saturday by defeating Riley County 56-48.
Hillsboro trailed by two, 28-26 at half time, and was down 40-36 nearing the end of the third quarter, but Tyler Weinbrenner hit a 3-pointer to end the quarter, with Hillsboro trailing 40-39.
Riley County was held scoreless for the first 5:35 of the fourth quarter, as Hillsboro built a 46-40 lead.
The Falcons were forced to foul the Trojans down the stretch, and Hillsboro answered, connecting on eight consecutive free throws to secure the victory, and the third place trophy.
Tyler Weinbrenner led Hillsboro with 19, and was followed by Andy Brubacher with 12 and Steven Chisholm added 10.
With the win, Hillsboro concludes their season with a stellar 23-3 record.
