ORIGINALLY WRITTEN
The Hillsboro Recreation Commission is inviting participants to register for summer youth baseball and softball.

Children from age 5 to age 15 are eligible to participate at the appropriate age level.

T-ball is open to girls and boys age 5 and 6 with a registration fee of $20. Coach pitch is open to boys and girls age 7 to 8 with a registration fee of $20.

The age for these teams is determined by the child’s age on Sept. 1.

Cottonwood Valley League baseball is available for boys with teams for those 10 years old and younger, and 12 years and younger. Boys age 13 to 15 can play on a Babe Ruth team.

Girls can play ASA softball in teams formed along the following age divisions: 10 and under, 12 and under, 14 and under, 16 and under.

The baseball and softball teams are traveling teams, and will require a $35 fee. Discounted fees are offered for families with more than one child participating.

Children registered by March 14 qualify for a $5 discount per family.

Age groups for CVL baseball are based on the age of the child on July 31. For ASA softball, ages are determined as of Jan. 1.

Forms can be dropped off at school offices or at city hall by the March 14 deadline. A copy of the child’s birth certificate must accompany the form if the child is participating on a traveling team.
