Lois J. Whitney, 78, clerk typist, died Jan. 11 at Friendly Acres Retirement Community in Newton.
The funeral was Jan. 15 at Petersen Family Funeral Home in Newton with pastor N. Jay Lewis officiating. Burial was at Restlawn Gardens of Memory in Newton
She was born July 13, 1924, to Edward F. and Leah Geis in Durham. On Nov. 6, 1949, she was married to Robert L. Whitney, who survives.
She is also survived by one son, Gregory Whitney of Osawatomie; one daughter, Jana Putnam of Hutchinson; two sisters, Eunice Klein of Marion and Betty Meier of Hillsboro; and two grandchildren.
Memorials were established with Immanuel Baptist Church, Hospice Care of Kansas and Friendly Acres Retirement Community, all in care of Petersen Family Funeral Home.
