Tabor splits pair in Tabor Classic

The Tabor women met second ranked and undefeated 15-0 Concordia University of Seward Nebraska Friday night in the Tabor Classic. Tabor trailed 26-20 at the half, but the Bulldogs showed that their national ranking is deserved and beat Tabor 76-55. Jill Hein paced Tabor with 12, followed by Casey Stucky with 11 and Erica Hemmert adding 10.

With the loss, Tabor drops to 6-6 for the season. Tabor meets Langston University Saturday evening. Langston was defeated by Ottawa on Friday, 70-66.



The Tabor men won a thriller over St. George University. Tabor came out hot, hitting its first six shots, all 3-pointers, with Micah Ratzlaff hitting the first four. Tabor built a 13 point first half lead, but led only 37-36 by halftime. St. Gregory took the lead in the second half and manufactured a nine point lead over the Bluejays with just under seven minutes to play. Tabor mounted a dramatic comeback that culminated with Brad Gattis hitting a 30 foot 3-pointer with just over one second remaining, to give Tabor the 74-73 win. Micah Ratzlaff led Tabor with 27 while Gattis scored 21. As a team, Tabor connected on 15-35 3-pointers.

With the win, Tabor improves its record to 5-7.

< Tabor concludes the Tabor Classic Saturday by hosting Hastings College, who defeated Langston Friday, 72-54.
