Bethany sweeps Tabor in KCAC action Thursday night

The Bethany Swedes swept into town Thursday night and went home with two victories in KCAC action in Hillsboro.



The 10th ranked Bethany women defeated the Bluejays 57-52, behind the strong play of Jodi Strathman who took game honors with 24. Cayla Cox added 12 for the Swedes.



Erica Hemmert and Casey Stucky again led the Bluejays with 13 points apiece.



With the loss, Tabor drops to 5-5 overall and 1-2 in the KCAC, with both conference losses coming to nationally ranked teams at home.



The Tabor men were also defeated by Bethany by a score of 76-64.



Scott Brubacher led Tabor with 22, followed by Micah Ratzlaff’s 17.



Dustin Hildebrand took game honors with 24 for the Swedes. Bethany was able to dominate the Bluejays on the boards, leading to several easy second chance points.



With the loss, the Tabor men drop to 4-6 overall, and 1-2 in the KCAC.



Next action for Tabor will be in North Newton Saturday night against Bethel. These games will conclude the pre-Christmas portion of Tabor’s schedule. Game time for the women is set for 5:00.
