Selma Duerksen, 85

Selma Duerksen, 85, homemaker and cook, died Nov. 30 at Bethesda Home in Goessel.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 4, at Alexanderwohl Mennonite Church in rural Goessel with pastors James Dunn and Mark Wiens officiating. Burial will be at Alexanderwohl Cemetery.

She was born Dec. 5, 1916, to Jacob H. and Helena (Nickel) Schmidt in Marion County. On March 21, 1947, she was married to Paul Duerksen, who predeceased her in 1978.

She is survived by one brother, Elmer Schmidt of Goessel.

A memorial has been established with Bethesda Home.

Selma Jost, 91

Selma Jost, 91, homemaker, died Dec. 2 at Hillsboro Community Medical Center Long Term Care Unit.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 4, at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church with pastor Bob Fenstermacher officiating. Burial will be at Gnadenau Cemetery in rural Hillsboro.

She was born Aug. 17, 1911, to David and Mary (Littke) Hiebert in Lehigh. On Dec. 1, 1935, she was married to Jake J. Jost, who predeceased her in 1992.

She is survived by two sons, Kim Jost of Magnolia, Texas, and Jay Jost of Broomfield, Colo., four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial was established with Hillsboro MB Church.
