9 Bluejays named All-KCAC

Tabor College capped a strong 6-4 football season by having nine players honored by the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Junior wide receiver Tyler Marsh, a 5-10, 185-pounder from Elk City, Okla., was named to the first-team offense. Jason Phelps, a 6-1, 200-pound sophomore defensive back from Elk City, and defensive end Chad Duerksen, a 6-2, 255-pound junior from Lehigh, were named to the first-team defense. Duerksen was a unanimous pick by coaches.

Offensive lineman Richard Chandler, a 6-1, 310-pound junior from Houston, was named to the offensive second team.

Willie Lopez, a 6-1, 190-pound senior defensive back from Smithville, Miss., Eli Kennedy, a 6-1, 220-pound junior linebacker from Fairview, Okla., Jake Schenk, a 5-10, 195-pound freshman linebacker from Smith Center, and Brent Brockmueller, 6-3, 280-pound junior lineman from Freeman, S.D., were all named to the KCAC defensive second team.

Tabor running back Cameron Conant, a 5-10, 195-pound junior from Smith Center, received honorable mention recognition.
