Dan J. Foth, 94

Dan J. Foth, 94, farmer, died Nov. 6 at Hillsboro Community Medical Center.

The funeral was Nov. 9 at Ebenfeld Mennonite Brethren Church in rural Hillsboro with pastor Gaylord Goertzen officiating. The burial was at Ebenfeld Cemetery in rural Hillsboro.

He was born July 27, 1908, to Andrees and Julie (Nick) Foth in Hillsboro. On Nov. 27, 1932, he was married to Tena Lee (Dahlke) Foth, who predeceased him in 1997.

He is survived by one son, Kenneth P. Foth Sr. of Broken Arrow, Okla.; two daughters, Sylvia J. Kornelsen and Faith Kornelsen, both of Denver, Colo.; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established with Ebenfeld Mennonite Brethren Church.

Gail Merrill, 95

Gail Merrill, 95, former owner of Merrill’s Cleaners in Marion, died Nov. 5 at St. Luke Living Center in Marion.

The funeral was Nov. 8 at Valley United Methodist Church with pastor Kennedy Mukwindidza officiating. Burial was at Marion Cemetery.

He was born Sept. 26, 1907, to C. Bert and Mabel (Green) Merrill in Plainville. On Sept. 8, 1929, he was married to Beatrice Knight, who predeceased him in 1989.

He is survived by one son, Max Merrill of Lenexa; one daughter, Carolyn White of Clark, Colo.; one sister, Zenita Drake of Yakima, Wash.; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A memorial has been established in his name at Valley United Methodist Church.

Ted Regier, 84

Theodore “Ted” Regier, 84, farmer and vocational-agricultural educator, died Nov. 5 at Bryan LGH East Hospital in Lincoln, Neb.

The funeral was Nov. 8 at United Methodist Church in Aurora, Neb., with pastors Brian Kottas and Seth Leypoldt officiating. Burial was at Aurora Cemetery.

He was born on Oct. 26, 1918, to Jacob and Sarah (Huebert) Regier in Hepburn, Saskatchewan, Canada. On Jan. 2, 1944, he was married to Marjorie “Marge” Wischmeier, who predeceased him in 1996.

He is survived by two daughters, Marjean Harshbarger and husband Bill of Newton and Joyce Stanway and husband Gregg of Hotchkiss, Colo.; sister-in-law Martha Regier of Henderson, Neb.; and two grandchildren.
