Rock bottom.

According to head coach Grant Thierolf, that’s exactly what the Marion Warriors hit Friday night against the Sacred Heart Knights.

The Knights rolled over the Warriors in a 42-0 shutout.

“We obviously reached the bottom,” Thierolf said of his team’s performance. “We didn’t execute in any aspect of the game.”

After the first half, the Warriors trailed by 21. In the second half, the Knights continued the slaughter tacking on 21 more points.

“We have a chance to redeem ourselves,” Thierolf said. “That’s the nice thing about this not being our last game, we have the opportunity to get things back on the right track next week.”

The Warriors are 1-2 overall and 0-1 in the Cottonwood Valley League. Marion hosts Chase County on Friday night.
