Earl Remmers, 81

Earl Emil Remmers, 81, retired farmer, died Sept. 6 at Newton Medical Center.

The funeral was Sept. 11 at Zeiner Funeral Home in Florence with pastor George Lespagnard officiating. Burial was at Cedar Point Cemetery.

He was born June 26, 1921, to Emil and Bertha (Lespagnard) Remmers in rural Marion. In 1941, he was married to Alta Stamp, and they later divorced.

He is survived by five sons, Alvin and Duane Remmers, both of Davis, Calif., Warren Remmers of Wichita, and Kenneth and Eugene Remmers, both of Ramona; one daughter, Lois Hayes of Lincolnville; one sister, Margaret Hale of Kansas City, Mo.; 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

A memorial was established with the American Cancer Society.

Violet Fisher, 84

Violet Irene Fisher, 84, homemaker and retired bookkeeper/clerk, died Sept. 9 at Memorial Hospital in McPherson.

The funeral was Sept. 13 at Canton United Methodist Church with pastor Wayne Stephens officiating. Burial was at Empire Cemetery in Galva.

She was born Sept. 10, 1917, to Guy G. and Chloe (Morehead) Zuck in Marion, Ind. On Jan. 2, 1937, she was married to Roy E. Johnson, who died in 1964. On Feb. 4, 1971, she was married to Myron D. Fisher, who predeceased her in 1989.

She is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Rundstrom of Canton; one sister, Vernie Cain of Cabool, Mo.; three grandsons and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial was established with Canton United Methodist Church.
