Tabor volleyball teams goes 2-3 at Branson, Mo., tournament

Over the weekend the Tabor College volleyball team competed in its first tournament of the season at the College of the Ozarks in Branson, Mo. The Bluejays defeated Bacone, 3-0, and Park, 3-2, but lost to Southern Nazarene, 3-1, John Brown, 3-0, and College of the Ozarks, 3-1.

Angela Kroeker recorded 46 kills and nine aces during the tournament. Sara Haggard recorded nine aces and had 164 assists. Erin Loewen recorded 45 kills and 10 aces.

Coach Amy Ratzlaff said, “I felt really good about (the tournament).” She said her players did a good job of mixing up their shots.

The Bluejays will open KCAC play Thursday at home against rival and conference favorite Bethel College. The following Tuesday, Tabor travels to Salina to take on Kansas Wesleyan. On both nights, matches begin at 6 p.m.
