HMS boys split with Nickerson

Michael Suderman ran for 159 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Hillsboro Middle School football team to an easy 44-0 win over Nickerson Thursday night on the road.

Lucas Hamm added 115 yards on only six carries and caught a touchdown pass from Troy Frick. He also led the team with 11 tackles.

As a team, HMS rolled up 341 yards total offense and scored in every quarter. Also scoring for HMS were Frick on a 13-yard run and Jesse Boucher on a one-yard run.

The seventh-grade team lost 20-0. The Trojans managed only seven yards total offense for the night.

The Trojans will play host to Sterling on Thursday. Games begin at 5 p.m.
