Maudie Vinduska, 80

Maudie Marie Vinduska, 80, retired nurse, died Aug. 29 at St. Luke Hospital in Marion.

The funeral was held Sept. 3 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Marion with Fr. Paul Oborny officiating. Burial was at Pilsen Catholic Cemetery.

She was born March 4, 1922, to Hugo and Ollie (Longhofer) Weishaar in Elmo. On Nov. 28, 1945, she was married to James Vinduska, who predeceased her in 1999.

She is survived by two sons, Steve Vinduska and Tim Vinduska, both of El Dorado; two daughters, Sandy Carlson of Burdick and Jody Roberts of Topeka; two brothers, James Weishaar of Abilene and Marvin Weishaar of Liberty, Mo.; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Memorials were established with St. Luke hospital and the American Cancer Society.

Helen G. Bostick, 84

Helen G. Bostick, 84, retired from the housekeeping department at Kansas State University, died Aug.28 at Mercy Health Center in Manhattan.

Graveside services were held Sept. 3 at Sunset Cemetery in Manhattan with pastor David Beese officiating. Burial with Easter Star committal services was at the cemetery.

She was born March 24, 1918, to Henry and Pauline “Lena” (Boettcher) Merscham in Alta Vista. On March 22, 1941, she was married to Paul C. Bostick, who predeceased her in 1975.

She is survived by one son, Henry C. Bostick of Manhattan; two daughters, Marilyn Plus of Hillsboro and Carolyn Hale of Manhattan; one sister, Ora Jean Glessner of Junction City; six grandchildren,15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandsons.

A memorial was established with the Shriner’s Childrens Hospital in care of Irvin-Parkview Funeral Home in Manhattan.
