The Tabor College volleyball team helped solidify its run for another Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference league title run by signing two more area athletes.

Jahannah Love of Wichita and Sara Daugherty of Kansas City signed letters of intent to play volleyball with the Bluejays in 2002.

Love, a 5-5 defensive specialist and outside hitter, helped Maize High School win the Class 6A State Tournament in 1999 and was a team co-captain in 2001. The Maize product also had a successful softball career at Maize, helping her team finish second and third in the Class 6A state tournaments in 2001 and 2002, respectively.

Love was named “Maize High School Athlete of the Year” and received such academic honors as National Honor Society and the KSHSAA Citizenship Award.

Tabor coach Amy Ratzlaff said she is excited about Love’s decision to play for the Bluejays.

“Johannah is an extremely talented athlete,” Ratzlaff said. “Not only can she contribute her excellent skill to our team, but her winning attitude will be welcome on our court.”

Daugherty, a 5-8 strong-side player, is a graduate of Sumner Academy. She was a three-time scholar athlete and received the Gatorade Award while at Sumner Academy.

“Sara brings solid skills to our team with a willingness to learn our game,” Ratzlaff said.
