The Goessel High School Class of 1957 held its 45th reunion Aug. 17 at Goessel Mennonite Church. The following 19 alumni from a graduating class of 32 members attended and are pictured left to right: Front row (from left) Anna Beth Unruh Birky of Newton, Joyce Duerksen Unruh of Newton, Mayann Goossen Longuevan of Grand Junction, Colo., Jean Schroeder Newfield of Peabody, Judy Krause Unruh of Hillsboro, Susan Dueck Voth of Goessel and Darlene Voth Stucky of Wichita; middle row, Bob Wedel of Lyons, Hal Wiens of Lenexa, Marlin Schroeder of Wichita, Clarence Klassen of Livermore, Colo., Loren Brandt of Goessel and Darrell Unruh of Hillsboro; back row, Harold Unruh of Newton, Henry Wedel of Newton, Dennis Unruh of Lincoln, Neb., Lester Voth of Newton, Jerry Schroeder of Newton and Don Wedel of Rosalia. A catered dinner was served by Nancy Schmidt, and the group took a tour of the high school buidling. Entertainment included a performance by The Wedel Brothers Quartet and humourous stories presented by Irv Schroeder of Hillsboro, who presented a narration in low-Dutch. Classmates shared stories about their lives since graduation and visited into the evening.
