GHS cheerleaders feted at summer camp

ORIGINALLY WRITTEN

Goessel High School 2002-03 cheerleaders attended a United Cheerleading Association camp in mid-June at Bethany College in Lindsborg. Participating in the experience to learn new cheers, dances and stunts were (left to right, front row) Andrea Rains, Sarah Church, (back row) Jennifer Schmidt, Carolyn Unruh, Brittany Goerzen and Linessa Duerksen. During the camp, the cheerleaders received superior and excellent ratings. They also earned a trophy for the most improved squad. The group is coached by Wendy Goerzen. As part of their fund-raising efforts, the cheerleaders will be taking orders for T-shirts through Sept. 6. The shirts are royal blue with white lettering on the front and left sleeve. Long-sleeved shirts are $15 and short-sleeved shirts are $10. For more information, call Goerzen at 620-367-2572.
