Kristy Lynn Friesen and Jeremy James Ehart were married July 20 at Talbott Lake on the Kansas State Fairgrounds in Hutchinson with Honorable Judge Tim Chambers, friend of the family, officiating the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Gary and Barbara Friesen of Hutchinson. The groom is the son of Linda and David Reid of Stockton, Calif., and DeWayne and Julie Ehart of Denton, Texas.
Grandparents are Ray Peters of Hutchinson, Carl and Ruby Friesen of Hillsboro, James and Verna McGarrah of Wichita and Leslie and Leone Ehart of Coffeyville.
Matron of honor was Kerry Buttler, sister of the bride. Best man was DeWayne Ehart, father of the groom.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a candlelight satin princess-panel gown with a sweetheart neckline on the tank-style bodice detailed with floral embroidery. The A-line skirt was accented with a small gathering to create a bustle effect in the back. She carried a bouquet of 20 red roses.
Music during the ceremony included Pachelbel Canon in D major and “I Do Promise You” by Paul Brandt.
The reception was held at the fellowship hall at South Hutchinson Mennonite Church.
Tables were decorated with ivy bowls with blue water and votive candles, and navy and white balloons. The white balloons were designed with a U.S. flag and intertwining wedding rings. Printed on the balloons was “Today I Married the Finest.”
The five-tiered wedding cake was baked and decorated by the bride’s mother. The cake was accented with a mixture of fresh flowers and topped with a U. S. Marine Corps cake topper.
The bride graduated from Hutchinson High School and attended Hutchinson Community College. She is employed by USD 308 in Hutchinson.
The groom also graduated from Hutch High. He is a member of the USMC and is stationed at Camp Pendleton in San Diego.
