The second annual Hillsboro Community Medical Center Benefit Golf Classic was held at the Hillsboro Municipal Golf Course Aug. 9. Seventeen teams participated in the four-person scramble.
The team from Cottonwood Falls of Russ Mildward, Scott Piper, Tom Robke and Ed Linhart won the tournament with a score of 58.
Placing second in the championship flight was a Hillsboro team of Carl Long, Richard Nickel, Gary Andrews and Doug Dick with a 59.
Placing third with a score of 60 was the Hillsboro team of Jim Brennan, Max Terman, John Shofe and Clint Seibel.
In first flight, the team of Jim and Beth Schroeder and Paul and Sheryl Pankratz won with a score of 65 on a scorecard playoff.
Second place went to the team from Health Partners of Kansas-Gaylee Dolloff, Jason Ladner, Jim Sergeant and Michael Ryan-with a score of 65.
Third place went to the team of David Watson, Roger Fleming, Andy Friesen and Jerold Vogt also with a 65.
The tournament was held to raise money for the purchase of a new van for the residents of the Long Term Care Unit.
