Glen A. Krauter, 82

Glen A. Krauter, 82, machinist in the aircraft industry, died July 28 in Marion.

The funeral was July 31 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Peabody with pastor Robert Kloth officiating. Burial was at Prairie Lawn Cemetery in Peabody.

He was born Dec. 31, 1919, to Gottlob and Elizabeth (Waddle) Krauter in Abbyville. On Oct. 5, 1943, he was married to Milda (Bernhardt) Krauter, who survives.

He is also survived by three sisters-in-law, Adeline Bernhardt of Tampa, Clara Bernhardt of Anacortes, Wash., and Patti Sherman of Burbank, Calif., and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial was established with St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Dick Thompson, 90

R.C. “Dick” Thompson, 90, salesman for E.L. Sauer and Sons in Houston, died July 27 at St. Luke Hospital in Marion.

The funeral was July 31 at Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion. Burial was at Marion Cemetery.

He was born Sept. 17, 1911, in Sash, Texas. On Sept. 30, 1939, he was married to Pearl (Ojeman) Thompson, who survives.

He is also survived by one son, R.C. “Rick” Thompson Jr. of Bandero, Texas; two daughters, Peggy Blackman of Marion and Joyce Cogburn of Rasanky, Texas; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A memorial was established with St. Luke Living Center or Marion Senior Center.

Clarence Lorenz, 93

Clarence V. Lorenz, 93, farmer, died Aug. 2 at Hillsboro Community Medical Center.

The funeral was Aug. 6 at First Mennonite Church in Hillsboro with pastor Curtis Wiens officiating. Burial was at Durham Park Cemetery in rural Durham.

He was born Dec. 21, 1908, to Ezra and Katie (Kaiser) Lorenz in rural Durham. On Jan. 25, 1929, he was married to Esther Evelyn Rauh, who predeceased him. On Sept. 4, 1975, he was married to Rubena Mueller, who survives.

He is also survived by one daughter, Marjorie Rediker and husband Marvin of Durham; one sister, Vernedda Klein of Durham; two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A memorial fund was established with Marion County Home Care Services.

Dores Chaput, 53

Dores Patricia Caput, 53, billing clerk at Marion Family Physicians, LLC, died Aug. 3 at her home in Marion.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, Aug. 7, at 11 a.m. at St. John’s Nepomucene Catholic Church in Pilsen with Father Steve Gronert officiating. Internment wll be in Marion Cemetery.

She was born March 10, 1949, to Melvin and Katharina Viktora in Bavaria, Germany. On Sept. 2, 1967, she was married to Garry Lee Cahput, who survives.

She is also survived by daughter Lori and Mark Smith of Marion; son Brian and Tiffany Chaput of Wichita; her parents, Melvin and Katharina Vicktora of Wichita; three sisters, Lorraine Norris of Wichita, Diane Williams of Dayton, Ohio, and Martha House of Hillsboro; and a brother, Michael Viktora of Chicago.

Memorials were established with Marion Family Physicians and St. Luke Hospital.

Clarification: Based on the reporting form we received from the funeral home, we mistakenly identified Janet Weathersbee as the minister who officiated the service for Alberta Belle Bartlett last month. Weathersbee was the officiant, but is not a minister.
