Marion dedicates new city library

Local dignitaries and members of the library board in Marion prepare to cut the ribbon to formally dedicate the new public library Sunday evening. Participating in the ceremony were (from left) Bill Smithhart, Doug Marler, Margaret Pickering, Larry McLain, Betty Sanders, Jim Crofoot, Janet Marler, Barbara Graham, Marge Endres, Susan Cooper, Margaret Wilson, Forrest Smith, Brenda Rhodes, Matt Newhouse and Jim Bridges. About 300 people turned out for the event, which included a tour of the newly renovated train depot and refreshments.
