Sweater project can help world’s needy kids

As a 4-Her in the knitting project, I would like to inform the community of an opportunity to help people across the world. This charitable mission, designed to clothe needy children, is called the Guidepost Magazine Sweater Project.

Guidepost Magazine developed a simlple children’s sweater pattern for both knitting and crocheting. People across the United States are making these sweaters and then sending them to Guidepost. They then distribute them to disadvantaged children throughout the world, from Africa to Harlem, N.Y.

I would encourage anyone with knitting or crocheting skills to make this sweater.

To get a copy of the pattern, you can call me at 620-382-8842. You can also contact the Marion County Extension Office in Marion.

I hope you will take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.

Thanks for supporting Main Street Ministries

Thanks to everyone who attended and participated in the Main Street Ministries Benefit Dinner/Concert Saturday, June 15. The meal, entertainment and program provided a fun evening for us all.

Best of all, we raised more than $5,000, which will help us complete our air conditioning project for the final three floors-just in time, too.

A special thank you to all the businesses and others who sponsored tables, which paid for the dinner. We appreciate your support of Main Street Ministries.
