Auction signals end for B&B Handyman

As Glenn Thiessen, Hillsboro, inspects a line of used lawn mowers, auction assistant Tim Contreras (elevated, wearing white hat) of Marshall Auction Service, Peabody, searches for bids on one of the myriad new and used mowers sold during a large business-liquidation sale for B&B Handyman Sunday afternoon. The sale began at 12:45 p.m. and lasted past 7 p.m. B&B Handyman was begun in 1974 by John Beltz and his father, Clifford, where Hillsboro True Value Hardware is now located on Main Street. John Beltz moved the business to its present location, 136. N. Ash, in 1988.
