A design to help others

ORIGINALLY WRITTEN
Nancy Miller, a graphic artist from Goessel, poses with the quilted wall-hanging she designed as a fund-raiser for the Goessel Women’s Christian Association. In addition to creating the design, Miller selected the fabric. Grace Brandt pieced and embroidered it, Alice Funk quilted it, and Janice Unruh Voth did the finish work. Miller said the project turned out just as she had imagined it. “That doesn’t always happen,” she added. The wall-hanging will be given away at a drawing the evening of April 22. Anyone interested in acquiring it can contribute $1 for a single opportunity or $5 for six opportunities through April 22 at the Citizens State Bank in Goessel, where the wall hanging is on display. The recipient need not be present at the drawing to win. Proceeds from the fund-raiser will be divided between the Goessel First Responders Unit and Joyful Noise Community Child Care.
