Goessel will host HOA art festival April 3

ORIGINALLY WRITTEN
Goessel High School will host the Heart of America League Art Festival Wednesday, April 3. Thirteen of the fourteen schools will participate.

The festival will be an event with several parts to it. The first is a judged competition held in the new gym. Students will show artwork in 18 categories.

During the judging, students will take part in learning workshops put on by art professionals. To conclude the day, the judge critiques entries in the auditorium and explains his reasons for selections.

“This whole day is a great learning opportunity for students,” said Goessel Art Instructor Brian Stucky. “It’s a chance for kids from small schools to see what others in the same kind of schools are doing.”

The judged show will be open to adults 9:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., but will be closed to students during the judging time, 9:45 a.m. until noon.

For information, call Stucky at 620-367-4722 or the school office at 367-2242.
