The Marion girls’ basketball team was looking for some momentum heading into the sub-state tournament and might have found it with a 62-32 win over Chase County Thursday night at home.
The Warriors closed their season against the Bulldogs before heading into the sub-state tourney where they faced the Hillsboro Trojans Tuesday night.
Marion and Chase County kept the score tight in the first quarter.
But in the second quarter, the Warriors rattled off 18 points to take a 30-17 advantage into the locker room at intermission.
The Warriors continued their dominance after the halftime break and never looked back for a 30-point win.
Marion’s Krista Zogelman finished with 18 points. Brandi Peterie had 14 points and Stacia Williams added 11 in the win.
Coming-The Warriors finish their season with a 10-10 record overall and a 6-3 record in the Cottonwood Valley League.
Marion faced Hillsboro on Tuesday in the first round of the Sterling sub-state tournament.
