Tabor splits games against Friends

The Tabor College mens’ basketball team hit their free throws down the stretch of Monday night’s game against Friends University for a 69-67 win.

The Bluejays took a 30-29 lead into the locker room at halftime after Scott Brubacher nailed a 3-pointer from the top of the key.

In the closing minutes of the game, Friends rallied back into the game, erasing a Tabor seven-point lead down to two.

But the Bluejays were resilient and walked away with a two-point win.

Ernest Nortey led the Tabor offensive attack with 15 points.


A last second shot sunk the Tabor women’s basketball team 51-49 Monday night against Friends University.

The Bluejays struggled to find the basket throughout the game shooting 37.5 percent from the field for the game.

Rachelle Speers and Becky Jons each had 13 points in the Bluejay loss.


The Bluejay men and women travel to Newton Thursday night to face the Bethel Threshers. Saturday night, Tabor hosts Saint Mary College to close out regular-season play.
