EDITORIAL: Thanks, city crews

Saturday’s strong winds, which caused a two-hour electrical outage for about half the homes in Hillsboro, came on the heels of the weirdest winter storm in recent memory. The storm brought welcomed moisture, but the icy residue on our sidewalks and streets resembled something akin to concrete. Removing it was near impossible without a jack hammer.

In the midst of these challenges, city workers spent long hours fixing our power lines and cleaning what ice and snow they could off our streets. We don’t say “thank you” often enough. Your work is appreciated. -DR
