The Marion girls’ basketball team put together a solid third quarter Friday night to defeat the Herington Railers 41-28.
The Warriors held off a late-game rally to up-end the Railers.
Marion’s Brandi Peterie had 17 points to lead all scorers. Krista Zogelman added 12.

The Marion boys’ basketball team man-handled the Herington Railers Friday night in Railer-country in a 62-54 CVL league win.
The Warriors led 31-26 at the end of the second quarter.
Marion had four players in double figures. Robert Verbic led the way with 18 points. Braxton Skiles, Brian Bina and Jason Matz each had 15, 12 and 10 points respectively.

The Warriors travel to Wichita on Tuesday night to face Wichita Trinity.
