Thiessen, Sims exchange vows

Bridget Thiessen and John Sims were married Nov. 17 at the historic church on the Tabor College campus with pastor Gaylord Goertzen officiating the double-ring ceremony.


The bride is the daughter of the late Rosemary Thiessen. The groom is the son of Corky and Darrell Gillen of Lehigh.


Maid of honor was Sara Berg, friend of the couple. Best man was James Heth, friend of the couple.


Bridesmaids were Kayla McIntosh and Amber Jost, both friends of the couple. Flower girl was Taylor Thiessen, cousin of the bride.


Groomsman was Matt Foth. Ring bearer was Tyrell Thiessen, cousin of the bride.


Musician was pianist Michele Kleinsasser.


The bride wore a strapless white dress with beads and sequins on the bodice. She carried a bouquet of yellow and blue flowers.


The reception followed the ceremony at the church. Reception assistant was Sandy Berg.


The bride is a 2001 graduate of Hillsboro High School and is employed at Applebees and Vicky’s School of Dance.


The groom is a 2001 graduate of Hillsboro High School and is with the U.S. Air Force working in security forces.


The rehearsal dinner was held on Nov. 16 at the historic church at Tabor.


The bride lives in Hillsboro and the groom is stationed overseas in South Korea.
