The Marion wrestling team split a pair of dual matches Thursday night at Marion. The Warriors defeated Flinthills 45-18 and lost to Herington 37-30.
Against Flinthills, the Warrior wrestlers won eight of 11 of their matches.
Marion coach Chad Adkins was pleased with his team’s performance.
“We wrestled really well,” Adkins said. “We had some good matches and pulled them out. We still have some things to work on, but I think we are peaking at the right time.”
The Herington Railers pulled out a seven-point win against the Warriors as Marion won six out of 13 matches against the Railers.
“This was the best dual we have wrestled all year long,” Adkins said. “The kids showed a lot of heart. We keep showing improvement every time we get on the mat.”
Coming-The Warriors travel to Bronco country tomorrow at the Remington Double Dual. On Saturday, Marion will do battle at the Southeast of Saline Invitational Tournament.
