The Marion High School wrestling team competed at the Eureka Tournament and came away with a third and fourth place finish by Justin Bowley and Steven Boone, respectively.

After the event, coach Chad Adkins praised the effort of his team.

“Steven Boone and Justin Bowley performed very well this weekend,” Adkins said. “I was proud of the overall effort.”

The Warriors fell victim to what a lot of teams in the area are experiencing-sickness.

“We wrestled a little flat this weekend,” Adkins said. “We had some sick kids, but the kids are getting better (as wrestlers) every week.”

Bowley finished third in the 215-pound weight class at the tournament after winning by a 7-2 decision against Eureka’s Neil Clark.

Boone fell to Anderson County’s Peter Faltz by decision, 11-10, to place fourth in the 171 pound division.

The Warriors will host the Marion Double Dual tomorrow.
