I really enjoy watching the old NFL football highlights from the days of Johnny Unitas, et al. The reason: When they scored or made a great play, they just handed the ball to the ref and went back to the huddle or sideline without all the antics.

Received some feedback from one of our readers from Marion. The Gatorade coolers I referred to as Coleman Coolers last week are actually the Rubbermaid brand made in Winfield, and the automation equipment used to make the jugs is made at Marion Manufacturing.

In the new-song-title department:
“I just bought the shoes that walked out on me.”
“You can lock me up in jail, but you can’t keep my face from breaking out.”

In the kid’s advice department:

One of the most amazing things I have ever seen a human do is Michael Jackson doing his moonwalk. It is so cool, and I love watching him do it.
There are many things I wish I could do. The moonwalk, along with playing the piano and juggling, rank high on the list.

My mom made scrapbooks for my siblings and me a number of years ago. Many times I get it out and look at how things were back when.
The book includes many pictures, birthday cards, etc.
I was noticing that almost all of my birthday cards say in one way or another: “Hope you’re feeling better soon” or “Sorry to hear you are under the weather.”
I do remember being sick a lot and standing at the window watching all the other kids playing and having fun outside.
