Marion girls and boys basketball teams sweep Chase County

The Marion girls basketball team grabbed their second win of the year handing the Chase County Bulldogs a 56-49 loss.



The Warriors outscored the Bulldogs in all for quarters.



Marion sophomore Brandi Peterie paced the Warriors with 18 points and senior Maggie Powers stepped up added 14.



The Warriors are 2-3 for the year.





Despite trailing Chase County up until midway through the fourth quarter, the Marion boys basketball team rallied late to pick a 45-40 win over their CVL rival.



The Warriors got off to a rough start in the first quarter only scoring six points in the period, but rattled several shot home in the second to keep the game within reach.



Marion senior Robert Verbic exploded for a season-high 21 point for the Warriors.



With the win, the Warriors are 3-2 for the year.



The Warrior girls and boys host Council Grove Friday night at Marion.
