The Trojans girls finished on top 64-47. HIllsboro led only by nine at the half, 24-15, but went on an 18-2 run during the last half of the third quarter to take a 50-27 advantage by quarter’s end. Krista Zogelman scored 10 of her team-high 13 points in the fourth quarter to close the gap slightly by the end of the game.

Jill Hein led the Trojans (unofficially) with 21 points and Amber Hefley scored 12 to pace the Trojans.

In the boys’ contest, Hillsboro outscored the home team 16-9 in the third quarter to pry open a fairly tight game on the way to a convincing 71-53 win.

After Hillsboro got off to an early lead, the Warriors pulled to within three points, 22-19, with 5:09 left in the half. But a couple of 3-pointers after a timeout put the Trojans safely ahead.

Andy Brubacher led the team with 16 points, Tyler Weinbrenner added 11 and Ross Duerksen added 10, as did Shawn Hughbanks, who came off the bench to give the Trojans some added spark in the first half.
