WEDDINGS: Wedel, Litton exchange vows

Stephanie Nichole Wedel and Travis Wayne Litton were married Aug. 4 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Abilene, with priest Randall Weber performing the double-ring ceremony.


The bride is the daughter of Steve and Cindy Wedel of Abilene. The groom is the son of James and Betty Litton of Beloit.


Grandparents are Ben and AnnaMae Goertz of Durham, Nathan and Myrtle Wedel of Newton, Martha Schmitt and Neva Litton, both of Beloit.


The bride, escorted by her father, wore a white two-piece lace-over satin gown featuring a sculptured square-neckline bodice with spaghetti straps and overlaid with beaded lace. The lace sheath skirt featured a flared godet back that met in a sweep train. She carried a hand-tied cluster nosegay of white tulips and white Eskimo roses.


Maid of honor was Mandy Fouts of Manhattan. Best man was Brian Jordan of Emporia.


Bridesmaids were Tricia Riordan of Manhattan, Sara Wedel of Shawnee, Megan Litton of Beloit and Erin Endres of Lawrence.


The bride’s personal attendant was Amber Engle of Abilene.


Groomsmen were Tane Litton of Beloit, Ryan Wedel of Shawnee, Darin File of Columbia, Mo., and Brandon Clark of Manhattan.


Ushers were Brett Delka, Ryan Eilert, Gary File and Jason Stewart.


Ring bearer was Garrett Schmitt of Beloit.


Programs were presented by Megan Klassen of Hesston, and Alyssa and Amber Schmitt, both of Beloit.


Gift takers were Jonathan Riedel and Kyle Klassen.


Reader was Judy Leyerzaph of Abilene.


Musicians were pianist Toby Weishaar and vocalist Kathy McCoy. String music was provided by the Festival of Strings Salina Symphony.


A garden reception followed the ceremony at Seeyle Mansion. Hosts were Rex and Colleen Cearley, Mona and Dale Koop, Susan and Joe Endres, Shelley and Myron Klassen, Donna and Joe Schmitt, and Cathy and Charlie File. Dance music was provided by Complete Music.


The bride is a 2000 graduate of Kansas State University with a degree in elementary education. The groom also is a 2000 graduate of KSU. He is employed as an after-market specialist for John Deere Co.


The rehearsal dinner, hosted by the groom’s parents, was catered by Brookville Hotel at St. Andrew’s parish hall.


The couple went to Cabo San Lucus, Mexico, for their honeymoon.
