BIRTHS: Virginia Miles, 78

Virginia May Miles, 78, homemaker and retired business owner, died Nov. 2 in Marion.


The graveside service was Nov. 5 at Walton Cemetery in Walton with pastor Jim Pohlman officiating.


She was born May 9, 1923, to John and Minnie Friday in rural Peabody. In Aug. 1942, she was married to Arthur Lee Miles, who predeceased her.


The Mileses worked side by side in a shoe shop and flower shop in Hillsboro for several years.


She is survived by one daughter, Tressie and husband Bud of Marion; and one son, Sheldon and wife Karen of Hillsboro; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.


A memorial was established with St. Luke Hospital in Marion.
