The Tabor Bluejays gave Ottawa all it could handle, but the home team fell short, 36-29, at Reimer Field Saturday.
The Bluejays came back from a 16-14 halftime deficit to take a 29-23 lead late in the third quarter on a touchdown pass from David Hernandez to Tyson Ratzlaff. The Braves came back with a touchdown pass of their own on their first play from scrimage after TC’s score, but the Bluejays stopped the extra point to keep the game tied at 29. Ottawa added a touchdown midway through the final period. The Bluejays had three possessions in the final six minutes and came as close as 26 yards away on one possession. But Ottawa stopped the Jays when it mattered most to preserve their win.
With the loss, Tabor falls to 4-5 overall and 3-5 in the KCAC.
