Pumpkins and patriotism symbolize fall this year

This seasonal display at the entrance of the Lloyd Funk farm south of Hillsboro on Indigo Road tastefully illustrates the traditional symbols of fall, including pumpkins, bales and scarecrows, along with U.S. flags which symbolize the patriotic spirit that has swept the country in the weeks following the tragic attacks on New York City and Washington, D.C., Sept. 11. Lloyd gives the credit for the creation to his wife, Sue.
