Tracy Schultz and Ryan Hefley, both of Goessel, were married at 7 p.m. July 14 at First Mennonite Church in Hillsboro, with pastor Marvin Ediger, great-uncle of the bride, officiating the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Harold and Susan Schultz of Hillsboro. The groom is the son of James and Leanna Hefley, also of Hillsboro.
Maid of honor was Tiffany Williams, and best man was James Hefley, both of Hillsboro.
Bridesmaids were Amber Hefley of Hillsboro and Lindsey Penner of Manhattan. Junior bridesmaid was Courtney Weber of Hillsboro.
Flower girl was Allison Weber of Hillsboro.
Groomsmen were Jared Hefley of Hillsboro and Scott Schultz of Lehigh. Junior groomsman was Scott Thiessen of Inman.
Ringbearer was Cory Klaassen of Newton.
Ushers were David Thiessen of Inman, Brandon Friesen of The Woodlands, Texas, Eddie Weber and Nathan Funk, both of Hillsboro.
Gift carriers were Mark Klaassen of Newton and Stephanie Griffith of Wakeeney.
Eddie Weber of Hillsboro was the reader and Connie Weber of Hillsboro was the personal attendant.
Guestbook attendants were Cindy Long of Wichita and Amber Marris of El Dorado.
A duet of “From This Moment on” was performed by vocalists Jessica Ollenburger of Emporia and Lindsey Penner of Manhattan. Connee Willis of Hillsboro was the organist.
Two Virginia roses were placed on the altar in loving memory of the groom’s grandparents Harry and Martha Klaassen.
The bride wore an ivory Italian satin gown with a halter neckline, lace floral motifs and a cathedral-length train. The bodice and A-line skirt edging was embellished with beaded and sequined Alencon lace.
She also wore a three-string pearl necklace, worn by her grandmother Friesen, 60 years ago on her wedding day.
The bride’s bouquet was a nosegay of Virginia roses and cassia.
A reception followed the ceremony in the church fellowship hall. Hosts were Richard and Anita Friesen of Hutchinson and Vince and Deb Collier of Newton.
Reception assistants were Ruth Funk, Melissa Hammond, Sonja Hefley, Kaylene Klaassen, Jenae Klaassen, Mollie Collier and April Funk.
The bride is a 1999 graduate of Hillsboro High School and a 2001 graduate of Butler County Community College with an associate of arts degree in early childhood education. She is employed as a preschool teacher at the EduCare Center in El Dorado.
The groom is a 1998 graduate of Hillsboro High School and a 2001 graduate of BCCC with an associate of science degree in business. He is employed as an auto technician at Ace Automotive in El Dorado.
The couple honeymooned at Walt Disney World in Florida.
A rehearsal dinner, hosted by the groom’s parents, James and Leanna Hefley, was held at 7 p.m., July 13, at the Scout House.
The couple resides in El Dorado.
