Coming off a split with undefeated Ellinwood on Tuesday, Sept. 25, the Hillsboro Trojans will be seeded No. 2 at the Canton-Galva Invitational on Saturday.

The Trojans lost the first match against a tough Ellinwood squad, 15-10, 15-10. They also lost the first game of the second match, this time by a score of 15-7. But the Trojans came back strong and won the final two games, 15-7, 15-6.

With the win, HHS moves to 12-3 on the season, good enough to be named the No. 2 seed at Canton-Galva. Moundridge will be the No. 1 seed with a 13-3 record.

Hillsboro will open pool play Saturday against Solomon at 9 a.m. They will then play Little River at 11 a.m. and Hesston at 1 p.m. All of Hillsboro’s pool-play matches will be in the Galva gymnasium.

Semifinal matches between the top two teams out of each pool will begin 45 minutes after pool play concludes. Finals will then follow the seminfinals. Those games will played at Canton.
