DEATHS: Herman Bolte Jr., 90

Herman F. Bolte Jr., 90, a farmer and stockman, died Sept. 17 at the Hillsboro Community Long Term Care Unit.

The funeral was held Sept. 20 at Zion Lutheran Church in Hillsboro with pastor John A. Ryding officiating. Burial was at Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Hillsboro.

He was born July 26, 1911, to Herman Fred Carl Bolte and Frederike (Teetzen) Bolte at Blaine Township in Marion County. On Oct. 26, 1941, he was married to Ruth Lee Beaty, who was deceased in 1991.

He is survived by a son, Herman Bolte III and wife Jane of Newton; four daughters, Glenda Miller and husband Alvin of Emporia, Barbara Tajchman and husband Joe of Lincolnville, Fran Gulley and Dean of Vancouver, Wash., and Terrie Schmidt and husband Jim of Newton; two sisters, Mary Eberle of Hillsboro and Elsie VanSant of Santa Rosa, Calif.; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial funds were established with Zion Lutheran Church and Hillsboro Community Center Long Term Care Unit.
