The Hillsboro Trojans came within a whisper of winning the Centre Invitational Volleyball Tournament Saturday, before falling to Hope in three games, 15-8, 13-15, 13-15.
The Trojans sailed through pool play unbeaten, knocking off Marion, Berean and Centre. They then beat Burrton in the semifinals in a three-game seesaw, 15-9, 1-15, 15-3.
The Trojans’ season record now stands at 8-1.
Marion placed third in the tournament, beating Burrton in the consolation finals.
