Marion runners finish second at Abilene cross country meet

Twenty-four athletes from Marion and Centre cross country teams got off on a good foot at the Abilene Invitational Cross Country Meet in Abilene last Thursday.


Marion placed second as a team with 45 points behind El Dorado who had 24 points.


Keith Dudely, Zach Ewert and Brian Bina placed third, fourth and fifth respectively.


Dudely ran the race in 17 minutes and 44 seconds. Ewert recorded a time of 17:45 and Bina a time of 17:47.


Centre’s Justin Garrard placed sixth just behind the Warrior trio with a time of 17:48.


Marion’s James Davis and Jared Hett medaled, finishing 16th and 17th respectively.


And Andrew Gayle medaled just one place behind Davis and Hett at 19.


Roscoe Richmond of Centre placed 21st and Grant Garrard also of Centre finished 23rd.


The Warriors and Cougars will travel to Hesston on Thursday.
