ANNIVERSARIES: David, Elvira Plett to mark 50th year

David and Elvira Plett will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a reception hosted by their children and grandchildren from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 16, at the Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church.

Relatives and friends are invited to the come-and-go reception that will feature a program at 3 p.m.

David Plett and Elvira Kroeker were marred June 5, 1951, at the Silver Lake MB Church near Freeman, S.D. They have served together in pastoral ministry in MB churches in Kansas, Nebraska, California and Oklahoma, retiring in Hillsboro in 1994. Since retirement, they have continued to serve in a number of MB churches on an interim basis.

The Pletts, along with their children and grandchildren, enjoyed a June vacation at Estes Park, Colo., in honor of their anniversary.

The couple’s four daughters are Cindy, married to Rolly Vix, of Olathe; Norine of Garden Grove, Calif.; Bev of Hillsboro; and Brenda, married to Paul Rust, of Elbing. The couple has eight grandchildren.

They request no gifts.
