DEATHS: Marjorie Sterling, 88

Marjorie M. Sterling, 88, a retired teacher and former owner of Sterling Press and The Canton Pilot, died Aug. 1, at Shiloh Manor Nursing Home in Canton.


The funeral was held Aug. 4 at Canton United Methodist Church with Sandy DesPlas officiating. Burial was at Canton Township Cemetery.


She was born Feb. 11, 1913, to Archie F. and Iva Sawyer Brown in Larned. On Feb. 3, 1946, she was married to Francis F. “Bud” Sterling, who predeceased her in 1998.


She is survived by a brother, Don Brown of McPherson, and several nieces and nephews.


Memorials have been established with Canton United Methodist Church, Canton Senior Center of Shiloh Manor Nursing Home, in care of Olson’s Mortuary in Canton.
