DEATHS: Lowell K. Abeldt, 78

Lowell K. Abeldt, 78, an insurance and real estate agent of Abilene, died July 9 at Salina Regional Health Center.


The funeral was held July 12 at the Abilene Brethren in Christ church with Charles Norman, Stan Norman and Henry Landis officiating. Burial was in the Abilene Cemetery.


He was born Oct. 22, 1922, to Henry and Lena Niemeier Abeldt of the Hope community. On April 7, 1943, he was married to Norma Jean McCosh, who survives.


He is also survived by a daughter, Jean Abeldt of Abilene; a son, Larry Abeldt and wife Nadine of Hope; a sister, Marjorie Bath of Newton; and four grandsons.


Memorial funds were established with the Abilene Brethren in Christ Church, The Gideon Society, Diabetes Association and the Leukemia Foundation.
