Thomas Howard Lundholm, 49, of Commerce, Ga., but also known as a native of White City, died Saturday of a gunshot wound to the head in an apparent suicide case investigated by the Marion Police Department.

Police Chief David Mayfield said he responded to a call in the 100 Block of North Coble to find Darla Evans, 32, Marion, on the phone with law dispatch, and Lundholm in the bathroom with the head wound and a hand gun on the floor next to him.

Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene, and air transporation to Wichita was available, but Lundholm was pronounced dead at the hospital, Mayfield said.

Mayfield said Lundholm’s relatives told officers he had previously talked about committing suicide. Lundholm apparently had sought professional counseling before, Mayfield said.
