Yvette Peters, a Bethel College sophomore and a 1999 Goessel High School graduate, added to her track accomplishments by competing in late May at the NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Abbotsford, B.C.
Her gold-medal performance at the KCAC track meet May 5 qualified her for a berth in 400-meter dash at the NAIA meet. Against 20 competitors from across the country, Peters advanced to the top 16 by running a personal best of 57.54 in the May 24 preliminary race.
In the semifinals, Peters finished with another personal best time of 57.48 to place ninth.
