DEATHS: Genevieve Broadstreet, 86

M. Genevieve (Jennie) Broadstreet, 86, a seamstress and home healthcare worker, died May 26 in Marion.


The funeral was Tuesday, May 29, at the Zeiner Funeral Home in Marion with John Goering officiating. She was buried in the Marion Cemetery.


She was born Jan. 4, 1915, to John E. and Sabina (McCoy) Bailey in Peabody. On Jan. 28, 1934, she was married to Bernard Edward Broadstreet, who predeceased her in 1992.


She is survived by a son, Lane Broadstreet of Wichita; three daughters, Nancy Bowen of Manhattan, Bernedeen Winter of Marion and Judy Stauffer of Algonquin, Ill.; two sisters, Verna Harris of Caney and Doris Cook of Belle, Mo.; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.


A memorial fund has been established with the Eastmoor United Methodist Church.
